Davis Truck Side

Due to the fact that it borders Harris County, which is home to Houston, Fort Bend County, Texas has been enjoying a population surge over the last few decades. History

The gulf coast county of Ft. Bend was named in honor of the fort that was built at a bend in the Brazos River. The fort, which was built in 1822, drew many people to the area and resulted in the founding of Richmond, which remains the county seat to this very day. The city was officially incorporated in 1837. Fort Bend County was incorporated the following year, and it was created by merging parts of Austin, Brazoria and Harris counties. Other than a brief period during which organized crime ran rampant in the 1950s, the county has enjoyed a safe and prosperous history.
